Every old LEGO set deserves a second chance - about Dr. Jey mission :-)

February 15, 2017 5 Comments A+ a-

Let me introduce you Dr. Jey and his four-legged assistant, experts on restoration of old LEGO sets.
Their mission is to travel the world in their Cobra and rescue sick LEGO sets that live in unfavourable conditions for some time for different reasons.

Either the sets live somewhere in a corner where no one notice them and they suffer from psychological problems or the place where they live is so unfortunate that they would be in a danger of permanent damage if Dr. Jey did not rescue them.
Every old LEGO set deserves a second chance
It might happen to every LEGO fan that his collection appears on Dr. Jey emergency list.
I completely understand that. There are challenges that every LEGO fan has to face one day as time passes - a threat of entering into dark period which is especially high for teens and a lack of dust free space which emerges as the beloved collection widens. All you can do is to find a less convenient place for part of your collection. The problem is that LEGO keeps releasing new wonderful sets so there is no wonder that the pile of such "abandoned" sets gets bigger and bigger and then one day Dr. Jey cellphone rings ...

Dr. Jey thoroughly examines the patient's condition and recommends the most appropriate treatment.

Sometimes it is enough to well clean the patient and ged rid of any impurities. Other times, however, certain bricks are so damaged that cleaning doesn't help and Dr. Jey has to prescribe a completely new brick to replace the old one. Dr. Jey's assistant is especially strong in finding bricks that are missing in the set.

It's not an easy job, but Dr. Jey could't imagine life without his work.

His first official case will be coming soon ! :-) He is on the way to rescue old and rare LEGO Technic sets that used to shine in shelves of our friend's house, a big and passionate LEGO fan Klaus from Germany.

Do you also start to lack a suitable space for your LEGO collection in your house / apartment ?

I will be very happy if you let me know in comments bellow.

I don't know why and how but I knew it! When You told me about the old Technic sets, I was immediately thinking about the yellow excavator!
I also have one and needs two new bricks
Very curious about the others!
I'm going to look up the red something.
Congratulations!
Brings back memories of early 90's Xmas... As I opened the box and the excavator was just there! And then, for all following Xmas Eve's, I've decorated the Xmas tree in the morning first, but then went for building the excavator again. I used it in the evening for grabbing the gifts and loading them on a custom made trailer. Later, when some needles fell off the tree, I cleaned the floor with it...
More than 20 years ago!

It's lovely to hear that you had such an amazing time with the yellow excavator back in early 90' as a child! :-) What's even more fascinating is that you still have it at home even if it has been more than 20 years from the moment when you found it under the Christmas tree.
Is it your utmost favourite LEGO set ? :-)
