Collectible Minifigure Series 11-15 including special series

March 10, 2017 2 Comments A+ a-

Recently I have shared with you in my post Collectible Minifigure Series 1-10 a breakdown of values of first 10 collectible minifigure series where you could find out which minifigure sells for the highest price or what is the average price of minifigure in each series. If you remember, it was the Nurse from Series 1 who ranked the first in terms of the highest current value.
I decided to add also the collectible minifigure series 11-15 including the special series such as The Simpsons 1 and 2, The LEGO Movie or Team GB to the analysis to find out whether there is someone who could beat the Nurse. And there is someone ... :-)
Find out more below.

Team GB Minifigures Series
First time in the history of collectible minifigures LEGO launched a special series - the Team GB (Great Britain) Minifigures Series to celebrate 2012 Olympic Games in London. :-) And the series also got, for the first time, an exclusivity to be sold only in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Currently it is the 2nd most expensive series ($19.9 per minifigure) following the Series 1 ($23.9 per minifigure).
  • Released in 2012
  • 9 minifigures / 63 pieces
  • 3 female minifigures and 6 male minifigures
  • RRP per minifigure : $2.99
  • March-17 price per minifigure : $19.94
  • Brawny Boxer - the most worthy minifigure in the Team GB Series as of March-17
    • "Punching his way to the top, this lean machine in blue is ready to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee for Team GB"
  • Tactical Tennis Player - the least worthy minifigure in the Team GB Series as of March-17
    • "First on the court in his gleaming whites, this tennis ace will knock the white socks off any competition"

Collectible Minifigure Series 11
The series with the highest number of female minifigures with glasses. :-) 3 out of 5 women in this series wear glasses, however only Grandma made it to the TOP 3. Just look at Gingerbread Man, he deserves to win just because of his cute big head ! Pity for the Scarecrow (one of my favourites) who ranked 4th and missed the podium.
  • Released in 2013
  • 16 minifigures / 109 pieces
  • 5 female minifigures and 11 male minifigures
  • RRP per minifigure : $2.99
  • March-17 price per minifigure : $14.35
  • Gingerbread Man - the most worthy minifigure in the Series 11 as of March-17
    • "Try and catch me."
  • Mountain Climber - the least worthy minifigure in the Series 11 as of March-17
    • "No cliff too steep, no peek too high."

The LEGO Movie Series
If I count correctly, this is the first series with more than 5 female characters. :-) Furthermore, also the first LEGO them that made it to the collectible minifigures. It's quite interesting that the only two real characters (William Shakespeare and Abraham Lincoln) outperformed all the LEGO Movie stars, leaving Emmet, Wyldstyle and President Business far behind them.
  • Released in 2014
  • 16 minifigures / 94 pieces
  • 6 female minifigures and 10 male minifigures
  • RRP per minifigure : $2.99
  • March-17 price per minifigure : $11.48
  • William Shakespeare - the most worthy minifigure in the LEGO Movie Series as of March-17
    • "Some are born Master Builders, some achieve it, and some have it thrust upon them."
  • President Business - the least worthy minifigure in the LEGO Movie Series as of March-17
    • "Let's take extra care to follow the instructions, or you'll be put to sleep."
Collectible Minifigure Series 11-15 including special series
The Simpsons Series
The first collectible series with no minifigure with a classic rounded head. However, it absolutely makes sense in this case... Can't imagine Bart or Homer with classic rounded head. :-)
  • Released in 2014
  • 16 minifigures / 90 pieces
  • 3 female minifigures and 13 male minifigures
  • RRP per minifigure : $3.99
  • March-17 price per minifigure : $9.74
  • Mr Burns - the most worthy minifigure in the Simpsons Series as of March-17
  • Ned Flanders - the least worthy minifigure in the Simpsons Series as of March-17

Collectible Minifigure Series 12
With 16 brand new characters released in Series 13 who else could win the most worthy minifigure than the Piggy Guy ? :-) I can't help myself but I also love animal suit minifigures even though there are other cool characters who would deserve the first rank too, e.g. the Wizard.
  • Released in 2014
  • 16 minifigures / 116 pieces
  • 5 female minifigures and 11 male minifigures
  • RRP per minifigure : $3.99
  • March-17 price per minifigure : $9.54
  • Piggy Guy - the most worthy minifigure in the Series 12 as of March-17
    • "Ahhh, this is the life."
  • Swashbuckler - the least worthy minifigure in the Series 12 as of March-17
    • "Here's the part where I swing in and save the day."

Collectible Minifigure Series 13
Great variety of characters in this series, from the guy who dresses as a hot dog to the powerful king ! :-) If you guessed that it must have been the king who ranked better out of those two, you're completely wrong. :-) Costume based minifigures lead the LEGO world.
  • Released in 2015
  • 16 minifigures / 115 pieces
  • 5 female minifigures and 11 male minifigures
  • RRP per minifigure : $3.99

    • "You will never escape my giant crab monsters. Wait, how did you escape my giant crab monsters?"

The Simpsons Series 2

Collectible Minifigure Series 15
After a longer pause again the regular series full of new characters with incredible stories. :-) My utmost favourite story is the Farmer's one. Who would ever thought that an ordinary looking farmer friends with aliens and drives a flying tractor ? Certainly not me ! :-) Who knows, maybe it is his surprising story that helps him to rank in TOP 3 most worthy minifigures in this series...
  • Released in 2016
  • 16 minifigures / 102 pieces
  • 5 female minifigures and 11 male minifigures
  • RRP per minifigure : $3.99

    • "Yikes ! Was that a fin ?!"
  • Wrestling Champion - the least worthy minifigure in the Series 15 as of March-17
    • "NYAARH ! I win again, pants !!!"
Collectible Minifigure Series 11-15 including special series
Below you can see a graph which shows who made it to the TOP 16 Most Expensive Minifigures out of 19 collectible minifigure series (Series 1-15, Simpsons 1-2, GB Team and The LEGO Movie). And we have a new winner compared to last time when we took into account only Series 1-10.
Congratulations to the Brawny Boxer from GB Team Series !!! :-)
Collectible Minifigure Series 11-15 including special series
On the contrary, the following graph shows 16 least expensive minifigures out of 19 series (Series 1-15, Simpsons 1-2, GB Team and The LEGO Movie).
Collectible Minifigure Series 11-15 including special series
This is also a very interesting graph that compares series according to their current average price per minifigure. You can see that Series 1, the oldest one, is still by far the most expensive series when you want to collect all its 16 characters. Followed by special GB Team series with average price per minifigure of $19.9. The Simpsons 2 series lies on the other side of the graph which points out to the lowest price to be paid to collect all its characters.

Did you find some of results in this post surprising ? Do you think that Series 1 characters deserve to be the most worthy ones?

I will be very happy if you let me know in comments below.

Current price of each minifigure presented in this article was calculated as an average of 3 highest sold listings on Ebay in March 2017. The average was then compared to older sold listings to ensure that the price is in line with older listings.

Hi ! I'm very glad that my review of minifigures was useful for you. There are plenty of minifigures released up to date by LEGO but the collectible ones represent just a very small portion of the total (950 minifigs released in 2016 in total). I am a big fan of collectible minifigs and looking forward to every new release of this popular theme. :)
As for your question regarding my review of series 16, 17, ect. I plan to release it as soon as I collect all characters from the series 17. I hope that I should manage to collect all of them by end of next month, hopefully !
Then I will start working on the review.
Thanks for your kind words I appreciate it s lot ! :)
