Two hottest LEGO sets of this summer ? - Apollo Saturn V and Carousel

Summer holidays are here - the sun, the sea and days of relaxation ! ... :-)  LEGO does keep us busy also during these hot summer days with new cool releases.
I've been currently working on the 3rd edition of the Brick Market Report which should once again provide you with comprehensive and up-to-date look at LEGO sets released during Q2 2017.
2017 has been immensely rich year for us LEGO fans thanks to a number of new great releases. We witnessed introduction of long awaited LEGO Ideas Apollo Saturn V and its fast sold out at the same time. Second wave of LEGO Batman Movie sets filled shelves of toy stores all around the world. 17th Collectible Minifigure Series has enjoyed a big popularity not only thanks to the mysterious campaign for the Highwayman. Also new fresh LEGO Jungle sub theme hit the market in Q2 2017... And LEGO Technic celebrates 40 years in a big style with amazing BMW R 1200 GS and other cool sets this year. 
What are the two hottest LEGO sets released during Q2 2017 that impressed me the most out of more than 100 new sets ? Definitely the LEGO Carousel by CREATOR and the NASA Apollo Saturn V by IDEAS !

 I am very glad that I've managed to add both these sets into my lovely LEGO collection.

I've mostly missed the NASA Apollo Saturn V due to its fast sold out. Hope that it will come back to shops soon so that more LEGO fans can get hands on it.

Can't wait to test the stability of this 100 cm tall masterpiece.

Carousel looks like the most colourful set of all times when placed next to the Apollo Saturn V.

It can be clearly seen on the example of these two very different sets that LEGO is working hard on development of new diverse models to catch up with demands of 21st century consumers.

I therefore hope that we will continue to see LEGO to prosper and to release beautiful sets like Carousel and Apollo Saturn V.

Set 10257 Carousel - build in progress :-)

Carousel 10257 is the most expensive set released during second quarter of 2017 but the price is worth the hours of fun. I have finally decided to open the 10257 LEGO Carousel box and start building it on Friday evening. It's Sunday night and I am half way finishing this magical build and I am impressed ! I have started smoothly with the ticket booth and then jumped straight on the technical part of the boarding platform of the carousel. I am still waiting for the most interesting part of the build, for me it will be the package number 4 which contains pieces for all the cute animals from fairytales which replaced the traditional horses used in the Grand Carousel 10196. :-)

I admire how all the pieces which makes the carousel rotate smoothly fit perfectly together. Can't wait to proceed with building again tomorrow. :-)

I like minifigs with printed tiles more than the ones without them. Why ? The tile is usually a perfect complement to the character of the minifigure, I always admire the detail of the print on the tile and minifigs with such a tile are easier to determine by hands when you try to guess what's inside the collectible package before actually opening it.

Also ... the tile will look perfectly as a bracelet. Don't be afraid to be creative. :-)

There are not many collectible minifigs with printed tiles. That was a pretty surprising finding for me !

I've never realised that there are at most two such minifigs in each collectible series and very often there is no such minifig at all in the collectible series (such as in case of Collectible Series 3, 4, 7, 11, 14 and 17) which is a shame, isn't it ? :-)

My collection of minifigures on vacation :-)

Number of minifigures I have in my collection has been growing every day since I decided to start collecting them. Sometimes it makes me wonder how can such different characters live happily together in such a small place as our flat is ? It's been quite some time since I took my minifigures out from the city for vacation. I guess that it's been already more than a year !
We spent together with minifigures this weekend in my hometown and we've all enjoyed a very good time there. I had a time to observe my small friends - how they behave to each other in their very diverse group.
