Almost every year since 2009 LEGO has released at least one sailing ship. If you are thinking about buying one there are quite a few to choose from. Last week, LEGO added one more to its flotilla - The Silent Mary, a beautiful (but a bit scary) ship that appeared in Pirates of Caribbean movie. Definitely one of the most beautiful ships released by LEGO so far, in my opinion.

If you are fascinated by LEGO sailing ships it is good to know that their price used to rise sharply as time passed so there is no reason to hesitate with purchase. I guess that the new The Silent Mary will not be an exception and will provide a pretty nice return as the rest of the flotilla.

And which one out of the 8 ships released since 2009 is the most beautiful ? Is it The Silent Mary ? To help you decide which one might become your favourite, I have put together my list that highlights all such ships.

I like big LEGO sets, they look impressive ! I like them even though I have a small apartment and it is often a challenge to find a deserved place for them. :-)
However, this ranking is not about the size, it is about the overall feeling and likability of the set. Therefore, I cannot omit also smaller but very cool sets.

Six years have already passed since introduction of the LEGO Ideas theme, originally known as a CUUSOO. Did you know that the first LEGO Ideas set was a submarine and it now sells for 9 times of its original retail price ? Not only that these sets make LEGO fans happier, they also make us richer. :-) Majority of them (retired ones) has already increased in price quite significantly.
As the name of the theme suggests, these sets are not about the number of pieces or complexity, but about the IDEA behind the set. And their LEGO fan inventors seems to have an unlimited creativity ! :-)
15 LEGO Ideas sets have been introduced so far and each of them has something which makes it wanted.

2010 - SHINKAI 6500 SUBMARINE (412 pieces, 0 minifigs)
It can dive up to a depth of 6,500 m - deeper than any other manned submersible. But it holded her record only by the end of June 2012 when it was beaten by Jiaolong which dived 6,965 m. :-( However, it is Shinkai 6500 not Jiaolong who can boast with her own LEGO replica made out of bricks !

Today I decided to look back in time and highlight 10 amazing sets released in 2013.
I was especially impressed by the Lone Ranger theme and the Master Builder Academy sets.
However, I must admit that this time it wasn't that difficult to pick only 10 sets compared to TOP 10 LEGO sets released in 2014 and TOP 10 LEGO sets released in 2015.
Even before I started looking for 2013 sets I had my favorite which retained the first place until the end of the search.
