Set 10257 Carousel - build in progress :-)

July 16, 2017 12 Comments A+ a-

Carousel 10257 is the most expensive set released during second quarter of 2017 but the price is worth the hours of fun. I have finally decided to open the 10257 LEGO Carousel box and start building it on Friday evening. It's Sunday night and I am half way finishing this magical build and I am impressed ! I have started smoothly with the ticket booth and then jumped straight on the technical part of the boarding platform of the carousel. I am still waiting for the most interesting part of the build, for me it will be the package number 4 which contains pieces for all the cute animals from fairytales which replaced the traditional horses used in the Grand Carousel 10196. :-)
Here are a few pictures from my joyful weekend with LEGO Carousel.

I admire how all the pieces which makes the carousel rotate smoothly fit perfectly together. Can't wait to proceed with building again tomorrow. :-)

Are you a fan of amusement park attractions such as Carousel that LEGO has released recently ?

I will be very happy if you let me know in comments below.

My brother and I just built this set over the weekend. It's a really fun build. Super cool how it all works--and very solid!
We also have the Ferris Wheel, which had been my favorite set since getting back into LEGO. This set was more fun to build and is just as impressive.

Yes, the build is very funny. Yesterday night I opened the pack number four and built first three animals - swan, flamingo and tiger. They are so cute. :-) I like the way they move up and down when the carousel rotates. Just like the real carousel ! That's very cool and smart feature of the set.
I also have the Ferris Wheel, but still unopened. I think that I won't be able to build it before we move into a bigger house.

The frog is VERY cool (my favorite). My brother and I think it's hilarious that the tiger's tail is basically right in the face of the swan. We even set it so that it hits the swan's face each time the tiger goes up and down.

Exactly, the frog is the best ! That's what I said yesterday when I finished all five animals - the frog is a star of the carousel for me ! :) Will play with the tiger and swan when I come back home tonight. :)

This looks very funny, I would like to build sets of this type but with some Latin American theme, does it exist? Such as the Machu picchu or the Panama Canal? I hope it exists

Hi Emmanuel, thanks a lot for your comment. There are not many Latin American themed LEGO sets. :-( It's been almost a year since I wrote a post about LEGO Architecture ... I was wondering where does LEGO find inspiration for their theme which brings alive famous iconic buildings. And the answer is mainly in the United States. Unfortunately, the only set which is inspired by Middle / South America is the LEGO Education set Panama Canal 2000451. I hope we will see more sets like Panama Canal coming in future.
